Internships at Interfaith Philadelphia
Throughout the year, Interfaith Philadelphia offers a diverse array of internship opportunities to both undergraduate and graduate students from across the country to work with us in the great city of Philadelphia. Please see below for current internship openings. In the past, students have engaged in a number of exciting projects including:
-
Planning, organizing, and running an Alternative Break for College Students
-
Assisted with coordination of an Interfaith, Intergeneration Women's Retreat and a College Essay Writing Workshop for students connected to the Walking the Walk Youth Initiative
-
Designing and building the agency's website, technology, and multimedia resources
-
Planning and coordinating a series of dialogue and learning events at local religious communities
-
Researching and developing educational resources on religious diversity and pluralism in the United States
-
Interviewing and recognizing nonprofits and congregations in our region doing peacebuilding work through the Zones of Peace initiative
We seek interns who are passionate about grassroots interfaith relations work and have excellent communications skills. They collaborate with a diverse team of volunteers and staff to implement programs, initiatives, and specific projects based on the intern's skills and interests, as well as the organization's most pressing needs.
Interns with Interfaith Philadelphia are invited to take part in weekly "learning lunches" where staff members and local experts from the business and academic world present on an array of interesting topics that will further expose interns to the nuances of nonprofit and interfaith work. Interns can also expect individual mentoring from Interfaith Philadelphia staff and board members who will help interns to build professional skills such as communication, relationship-building, leadership, project-management, teamwork, persuasive writing, and personal impact development.
"After interning at Interfaith Philadelphia I not only had time to witness the many creative ways their work transcends acts of hatred towards others, but it strengthened me to stand up for the victimization of others because of my Christian faith."
