Matthew Gambino

Matthew Gambino is a pastoral assistant at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Parish in Norristown, Pa. He is a former editor of CatholicPhilly.com, news website of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

His journalism career of more than 30 years features awards as a writer and editor plus success in business management in Catholic and secular media, both in print and online.

After graduating from Philadelphia’s St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Matt began his career as an editor for The Catholic Standard & Times, the former archdiocesan newspaper. He later led editorial operations for secular community newspapers and websites. He was named director and general manager of The Catholic Standard and Times in 2007. After it ceased publication in 2012, he led a successful transition to all-digital CatholicPhilly.com.

Matt currently serves in a ministerial role at his home church, and remains a freelance writer. He lives with his wife and two daughters in suburban Philadelphia.
